Mythologist and storyteller Martin Shaw visits Point Reyes to celebrate the life and work of poet Tony Hoagland. Dr. Shaw will read from Hoagland's final collection of poems, Turn Up the Ocean, as well as the pair's collaboration, Cinderbiter: Celtic Poems (Graywolf Press).
This free event will be held at the Dance Palace in Point Reyes Station.
About Tony Hoagland and Martin Shaw
Tony Hoagland (1953–2018) was the award-winning author of seven books of poetry, including Priest Turned Therapist Treats Fear of God and What Narcissism Means to Me, and four books about poetry, including Twenty Poems That Could Save America.
Martin Shaw is a writer, mythologist and oral storyteller. Author of many books, his latest, Stag Cult was recently the number one bestseller at the London Review of Books. He founded the Oral Tradition and Mythic Life programs at Stanford University and his conversation and catalogue with Ai Weiwei is available with the Marciano Arts Foundation.
