Tracie McMillan
Author of The American Way of Eating
Journalist Tracie McMillan's work centers on the question of access to good food, particularly within middle- and lower-income communities. She has won several national awards, including the Harry Chapin Media Award and the James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism, and been recognized by the James Beard Foundation. Come hear a reading from her new non-fiction book The American Way of Eating and discover what she has learned about food and class in the United States. From the fields of California, a Walmart produce aisle outside of Detroit, and the kitchen of a New York City Applebee’s, McMillan will take you into the heart of America’s meals.
A Q&A and book signing will be part of the event.
