Joel Salatin
author of Folks, This Ain’t Normal: A Farmer's Advice for Happier Hens, Healthier People, and a Better World
Food movement pioneer Joel Salatin’s business card reads: ‘Food Choice Advocate, Dream Doer.’ He describes his occupation as “mob-stocking herbivorous solar conversion lignified carbon sequestration fertilization.” Salatin was featured in Michael Pollan’s Omnivore’s Dilemma and is a now a popular speaker across the country, inspiring thousands with his humorous and conviction-based lectures. He has written nine books and the most recent, Folks, This Ain’t Normal, conveys the gravity of the ecological and cultural crisis our country is facing. Join us for a light tasting of local food, lecture and book signing with Salatin, and see how you can “re-find your responsibilities to this Earth we call our nest.”
